Ausgabe 428: Was hat Netflix mit acht Milliarden US-Dollar vor? (22.10.2017)

In dieser Woche teilte Netflix mit, dass man nun 109 Millionen Kunden hat. Mit einem Umsatz von drei Milliarden US-Dollar im dritten Quartal ist das Unternehmen richtig erfolgreich. Um sich von anderen Mitbewerbern abzugrenzen und den US-Networks unabhängig zu machen, möchte man im nächsten Jahr acht Milliarden US-Dollar investieren. Obwohl man Serien wie «Sense8» absetzte, sollen weitere teure Projekte folgen.

80 neue Filme möchte Netflix im nächsten Jahr realisieren, die Anime-Sparte soll von 12 auf 30 Projekte pro Jahr steigen. Quotenmeter.FM-Gastgeber Fabian Riedner und Hauke Reitz diskutieren über die Qualität der vergangenen Projekte. So geht man unter anderem der Frage nach, ob man zwingend ständig aufwändige Formate wie «House of Cards» oder «Bloodline» benötigt.

Auch das Aus von «Mensch Gottschalk» bei RTL ist ein Thema. Nach zwei ausgestrahlten Ausgaben wirft RTL das Handtuch. Lag das am Konzept, an der Produktionsweise oder doch am Moderator?
